ALBI - SMART WINE DISPENSING SYSTEM
Albi is a product system designed to transform wine consumption into a more flexible and controlled experience. Wine consumption is traditionally tied to opening a full bottle, a commitment that often leads to waste. In many everyday situations, people avoid opening a bottle for just one glass, or end up compromising quality once it has been opened. This reveals a simple but overlooked need: to enjoy wine without waste or compromise.
PROJECT
Albi originates from an analysis of everyday wine consumption, identifying a recurring behavior that shapes how people engage with the product.
Developed as a system rather than a standalone object, it addresses both user experience and broader application contexts. Research revealed a latent need: people often avoid having a glass of wine for fear of wasting the rest of the bottle, shifting the design focus from the container to the act of consumption.
Once opened, wine begins to deteriorate due to oxidation, as air alters its flavor, aroma and overall quality. Preserving the original experience over time becomes difficult, often resulting in waste. The design process focused on translating this constraint into a clear and controlled interaction, reducing complexity into an intuitive and reliable system, while defining a refined and distinctive product presence.
Albi introduces a smart solution based on Smart Bags and proprietary technology, designed to preserve wine for up to six months after opening, maintaining its original properties while enabling consistent, single-glass consumption over time.
